Joseph T. Kammerer is the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Cost and Economics) and Director of the Air Force Cost Analysis Agency, reporting to the Assistant Secretary (Financial Management and Comptroller).

His government career includes positions as:

  • Deputy Assistant Secretary (Cost and Audit), reporting to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Comptroller)
  • Chief Financial Officer of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Department of Commerce
  • Advisor for Resource Analysis to the Secretary of the Navy and the Chief of Naval Operations
  • Director Cost Estimating and Analysis, Naval Material Command, reporting to the Chief of Naval Material Intelligence Community
  • Comptroller and Deputy for Resource Management, Community Management Staff, Office of the Director of Central Intelligence
  • Director of Planning, National Security and International Affairs Division, General Accounting Office;
  • Director Manpower, Logistics, and Support Forces, Systems Analysis Division, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations;
  • Associate Assistant Administrator for Resource Management, Federal Energy Administration, Department of Energy.

Mr. Kammerer began his career with the government as an engineer designing ships and submarines for the U.S. Navy. Mr. Kammerer’s private sector experience includes Chief Financial Officer of the McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company and Electronic Systems Company. His education includes an MBA from the Simon School of Business, University of Rochester; a BS and MS in Engineering from the University of Maryland, and doctoral studies in Engineering at the Catholic University of America.

Mr. Kammerer is married with two children and five grandchildren and currently resides in Vienna, Virginia.
