Mark Chloupek is the Chairman of both the Hospitality and Legal Committees of the Hokenson Group Advisory Board. His areas of expertise are Contract Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Real Estate Transactions, Hospitality and Travel Services.
Mark is currently the Executive Vice President, Legal & General Counsel for La Quinta Inns and Suites, which is owned by the Blackstone Group. La Quinta is one of the largest operators of limited-service hotels in the United States, with over 65,000 rooms. Based in Dallas, Texas with 9,000 employees nationwide, La Quinta operates and provides franchise services to more than 575 hotels in 42 states and Canada under La Quinta Inns and La Quinta Inns & Suites brands.
From 1999 through 2006, Mr. Chloupek served as Senior Vice President and Chief Counsel of Operations for Wyndham International, Inc. Wyndham International was also acquired by the Blackstone Group.
Prior to joining Wyndham, Mr. Chloupek worked for the Dallas-based law firm Locke, Liddell & Sapp LLP. Mr. Chloupek received a B.A. in economics from the College of William and Mary where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Suma Cum Laude and received a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Additionally, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and The Texas General Counsel Forum. Mark is married with two children and resides in Dallas, Texas.
